Program for openSUSE 3D Design and Printing Workshop
Greetings and Welcome
presented by Douglas DeMaio
An introduction to the workshop and day's schedule
09:30 - 09:45 All Hands AreaOverview about 3D printing tools
Übersicht über unsere Programme für den 3D Druck
presented by Adrian Schröter
OBS and openSUSE distribution come with a number of tools useful for 3D Printing.
We will cover how 3D printing works in general and going step by step backward to the models we want to design later. Will cover control programs, slicers, filament and a High level over view of 3D design tools.

Ein FreeCAD Objekt mit FreeCAD erstellen
presented by Adrian Schröter
We design together the same object using FreeCAD. I will guide you through the different workbenches of FreeCAD and tell you how to use them.
Optional: * Importing a STL file, convert it via a mesh to a solid. And being able to modify it. * We may also use FEM simulation to simulate force on the object to find it's week point.
Please bring a laptop with you.

The shortest path between mouseclick and printer
presented by jnweiger
This hands-on presentation gives you a short introduction to working with inkscape with focus on design for mechanical engineering. While 2D-SVG-drawings are well known to work with plotters or laser-cutters, the use with 3D-Printers is new. An extension available from https://github.com/fablabnbg/inkscape-paths2openscad/releases is presented. This extension allows linear extrusion of 2D-object...

Dein eigenes Objekt designen
presented by Adrian Schröter
You need to come with an idea what to design. You may come with some existing object you want to recreate. Or find something on thingiverse you want to create from scratch. Please note that we will focus on technical objects and not on figures like comic creatures. So come with some burr, cookie cutter, cable holder or so on. You can also come with a more complicate or larger object, but we mi...
