Richard Brown / ilmehtar is from England but currently lives in Nuremberg in Germany, and is chair of the openSUSE Board as well as employed as a QA Engineer by SUSE. Involved in openSUSE/SUSE since 2003, Richard has contributed to various aspects of the project, including supporting users on IRC, testing/bug reporting, packaging, marketing, ambassadors and artwork. Richard is involved as a maintainer of GNOME and the openSUSE branding packages, as well as working on other parts of the Project.

We recently launched the Local Coordinator program to improve the promotion of openSUSE, and to establish local users, communities and contributors for openSUSE around the world. This session will introduce attendees to the program, explain its purpose, and go in to detail about the duties and benefits of becoming an openSUSE Local Coordinator.
