Every year, our LibreOffice community in Japan hosts many offline events. However, It became difficult due to the influence of the COVID-19 this year. So, we moved from offline to online events, like other LibreOffice communities and other OSS communities.

We are organizing to LibreOffice Hackfest every Wednesday night and sometimes joined other online events such as OpenSource conferences.

Our previous offline events had three goals: to raise the profile of LibreOffice, to strengthen relationships with other open source communities, and to grow the LibreOffice Japanese community. Now that we are online, our activities focused mainly on the growth of the LibreOffice community.

I will share the specifics of what we've done in previous offline events and what we're doing in this online event. And I would like to talk about the knowledge we gained, the challenges we faced, and the next challenges.
