Patrick's original background was in the film industry, were he worked for 8 years as a Special Effects technician. But since he started programming at age 14, he's overlaid that with 30+ Years in technology, with at least 20+ years with working with Linux.

With the global political situation being what it is, and Windows 10 end of life rapidly approaching, there is a real chance that Desktop Linux might become the default across a wide range of industries. But there a practical obstacles to deploy at a large scale - in this talk I discuss what many of them are, and present real world scenarios were Linux can, and has saved vast amounts of time and money in deployment and operational costs.
