I am a Software Engineer based in Australia, I have been working on openSUSE for 6 years maintaining the Enlightenment desktop and several other packages, I have also been active in the community both on IRC and mailing lists, in more recent times I have also become a member of the package review team. I have spent the last year working at SUSE as a packager and outside of this have interests in topics such as desktop design as well as robotics and electronics.

No video of the event yet, sorry!

Enlightenment is a highly customisable Desktop Enviornment that allows great flexibility but at the same time can be somewhat intimidating to setup for the first time.

In this talk I will walk through the steps we take to go from the default enlightenment configuration to the ones shipped in openSUSE, which will cover a range of topics from setting up additional keybindings to configuring shelfs and modules.

After this I will walk through some of the other customisations that I make on my machine including things like setting up additional startup apps.

Finally I will look at some aditional applications that you can use alongside enlightenment for additional features, such as the conky system monitor and variety wallpaper changer.
